A boat for Sitio Lemonsito

Sitio Lemonsito of Barangay Sabang-bao in Ormoc City received a motorized pumpboat on September 23, 2014.

In a short and simple ceremony, City Councilor Vincent Rama turned the boat over to the Barangay Captain Nicanor Casunggay, with Messers. Demetrio Suico, Romy Guino and Felipe Cuyos, all barangay leaders, in attendance.


Lawmaker inaugurates sports project at Leyte school

ORMOC CITY, Philippines – Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez led the inauguration of a sports facility at the Ormoc City Central School here last Sunday.

OSPA-FMC Receives a New Ambulance

The Ormoc Sugar Planters Association (OSPA) – Farmers Medical Center (FMC) had barely celebrated 42 years of service  to OSPA planter-members and their families, as well as their farm workers and their dependents when Typhoon Yolanda hit.
The OSPA-FMC was not spared from Typhoon Yolanda. Its entire roof was torn off, its windows were battered by the typhoon and its medical equipment and supplies were drenched.
On September 15, 2014, the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America (SPSA) put in their bit towards its recovery, by donating an ambulance to the OSPA-FMC.

150 Boats for 13 Barangays in Ormoc

On September 15, 2014, 150 motorized fishing boats were distributed among 13 barangays (see image below), donated by various kind hearts for the fisherfolk of Ormoc.

The ceremonies were held at the Ipil Port in Barangay Ipil, Ormoc City, with each recipient posing with their new fiberglass banca with Honda engine, holding up a sign that expressed their boundless thanks.

There to witness the event were Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez, Mr. Richard Gomez, Mr. Matt Torres, Mrs. Caren Torres – Rama. Also present were Barangay Captains, Salvador Hermoso, Circiaco Tolibao III, Edward Nazario, Hon. Ruperto Bioc, and Jason Gestoso
